Thank you for using SmileClock ("we", "us", or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use our iOS application (the "App").
1. Information We Do Not Collect
SmileClock is designed with privacy first. We do not collect, store, or transmit any personally identifiable information. Specifically:
- We do not require you to create an account.
- We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or location.
- We do not use analytics SDKs that send your data to third-party servers.
- We do not track your behavior across other apps or websites.
2. Information Stored Locally on Your Device
All your data is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework and the system's UserDefaults. This includes:
- Alarm configurations: Alarm times, labels, repeat schedules, and task types you create.
- Task records: History of completed alarm tasks (success/abandon status, timestamps, and optional photo thumbnails for camera-based tasks).
- App settings: Sound, haptic, snooze duration, and other preferences.
- Streak statistics: Daily completion streaks and success rates.
This data never leaves your device. It is not backed up to any server controlled by us.
3. App Group Shared Storage
SmileClock uses an App Group container to share certain state between the main app and its Widgets (home screen widgets). This shared storage includes:
- The currently ringing alarm ID (so widgets can display "ringing" status).
- Snooze state (alarm ID and end time) for widget display.
- Streak and today's progress for widget display.
